Proving how traffic flows, in numbers.
Traffic flow simulation for road networks from a few kilometres to several hundred kilometres across. Based on research from the Institute of Industrial Science at the University of Tokyo and refined over more than 25 years. Its mesoscopic model, built on the flow-density (Q-K) relationship, supports dynamic route choice, signal control and environmental assessment.
- Analysis of wide-area networks from a few to several hundred kilometres
- Dynamic route choice modelled by vehicle type
- Applied to bypasses, road pricing and disaster evacuation planning
- Estimation of CO2 emissions and fuel consumption
